ALBANY, N.Y. —A disappointed crowd left the Sefcu Arena last Saturday, following UAlbany’s annual Parkfest.

Gucci Mane, Wethan and Tinashe performed at this years indoor event. Doors opened at six p.m. leaving many to wonder why the event started so early. UAlbany student Jackson Mowers said,

“I don’t understand why Park Fest is starting so early. There’s like no one here.”

Getting into the event was a struggle. They had gates that wrapped around the side of the building. There weren’t even that many people there so these gates seemed extreme. You had to have your Suny ID and ticket with you. You could not bring anything in, not even a small purse.

The atmosphere of the event seemed to be a negative one. Gaps between performers was one of the biggest problems expressed to me. Gaps lasting 20 minutes or more made for restless audience members. UAlbany student Egypt Santiago said,

“There was nothing but silence for 20 minutes…It was like the whole concert was over the course of four hours with only three performers, so that to me was very bothersome.”

During the gaps there was a technology problem. Gucci Mane got a little heated with his words, yelling at the tech people that he wouldn’t come out on stage. Over all there seemed to be a problem with things being timed up correctly.

The line up of performers did get praise from one UAlbany student who asked to not be named. They said

“The lineup is so good this year, I love Gucci Mane.”

Saint Rose student, Kati Abel told me,

“If I would have known that I could have gotten tickets, me and my friends definitely would have gone.”

Abel wanted to go but was under the impression it was only for UAlbany students.

There are mixed feeling’s among Students this year. One thing for sure is students enjoyed the performances of the artists. There just needed to be some more organization.
